Background

Lucy Davis

Based on the south coast of England, Lucy has classical roots, studying music from a young age.

Originally a classical pianist, she taught herself to play the acoustic guitar whilst studying a music degree at Liverpool University. Lucy has been writing quirky folk and blues songs for a decade, performing as a solo artist and as a member of bands. In the folk band The Fox And The Owl, Lucy plays a variety of instruments including bass, cajon, ukulele, and vocals. She called her original genre Berleggae, as she was writing blues songs with a reggae influence whilst imagining burlesque dancers performing to them. Since studying MA Songwriting at Bath Spa University, Lucy is branching out into other genres including electronica and soul, and refining her skills to produce her own work.
